Our trip to Senegal is a trip that will last with me forever. Going into the village, I didn't really know what to expect. I knew there would be poverty, but I didn't realize how much there actually was, and how many people were affected by it. I initially thought that bringing a few shirts, sunglasses, bracelets, and other items would be enough to give away, but quickly realized that no matter how much I brought, I would still want to give away more, and that no matter what I gave, more needed to be given. One of the most meaningful moments for me on the trip was giving away the sneakers on my feet to a boy who was walking around completely barefoot. It felt so good to give my stuff away to those who need it the most, and seeing the happiness in his eyes, and the appreciation in his mother's, made it so much better.
