Most of what I really need
To know about how to live
And what to do and how to be
I learned in kindergarten
— Robert Fulghum

In America, allowing a child to attend preschool for one year can cost over well over $10,000. In Senegal, a child can attend preschool for just $50 a year.

What We've Done

Even at just $50 US dollars a year, many families in Lambaye cannot afford to provide their children with a preschool education.  However, because of the support we've received from local community members, Students for Senegal has been able to fund the preschool education of more than 50 of these children!

These children will now have access to the experiences and skills they need to succeed in all their educational endeavors and beyond. Below please see the entire group we funded last year on their first day of school ever!

Importance of Early Childhood Education

Early childhood education focuses on developing skills foundational for a child's future success, not only in an educational setting but in everyday life.

Foster Self Confidence

Early education promotes a love of learning and discovery. Children learn to be confident in themselves and their desire to learn.

Build Relationships

Developing secure relationships with caregivers, teachers and friends in an educational environment ensures a foundation of trust.

Develop Foundational Skills

Children learn to play, explore, ask questions and develop routines. They learn to count, recognize letters and develop lifelong friendships.

How You Can Help

If you donate just $50 today, you can provide an entire year's worth of preschool education to a toddler in need.
