One day in the village we went to visit the middle school, there we were assigned buddies who we got to meet and sit with during a French lesson. These were my buddies, Awa and Maráme. At the end of the lesson, both of them had written me something telling me about their families and Maráme signed her letter saying, "My friend is Charlotte, I loved spending time with her". It brought a tear to my eye and I will never ever forget that moment. The people of Lambaye are so thoughtful, sweet, and caring. Nobody will ever know how much they appreciate what we do for them until you really see it.
