Developing a leading rural computer science curriculum.

In the rural areas of Senegal, the computer science curriculum at the Lambaye Learning Center is designed to introduce students to fundamental concepts of computing through a hands-on, interactive approach. The curriculum begins with basic digital literacy, ensuring that each student is comfortable using computers. As they progress, students will explore essential topics such as coding, internet safety, and software applications, catering to varying skill levels.

Students engage in project-based learning, where they can apply their skills to real-world problems relevant to their community, fostering creativity and innovation.

  • By incorporating local languages alongside technology, the curriculum promotes cultural relevance while improving students' communication skills.

  • The learning center also provides online resources for further study, allowing students to access a world of information and enhance their learning experience.

  • Ultimately, this curriculum aims to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary for future educational and career opportunities in the tech industry, helping bridge the digital divide in Senegal.
